The Caninos Loucos Program is unconditionally supporting the manufacture of pulmonary ventilators, on an emergency basis, to supply the possible hospital demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic, within the Brazilian territory.

The Caninos Loucos Program develops Single Board Computers (SBCs) with an open structure for applications in cities, home automation, agro-business, and health. The Program is part of a Federal Government’s priority plans on the use of Internet of Things (IoT) and is an initiative from the Laboratory of Integrated Technological Systems (LSI-TEC) with the support of the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (Poli-USP).

The INSPIRE pulmonary ventilator was developed using open and low-cost technology, led by professors and researchers from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo.
